Sudaisi is a 14 year old boy and is a secondary level student. He is one of 4 children and his family struggles to afford rent and food on a limited income. Sudaisi's father does the best he can to provide for his children but often finds he is unable to make ends meet, much less afford tuition school fees for Sudaisi's education.

Shifra

Shifra is an 11 year old girl and would be considered a primary level student. Shifra is one of 5 children and her mother does small scale farming to earn wages to help take care of her children. Shifra's father is able to take small odd labor positions within the community when the opportunity arises for him to make an income. Despite their best efforts, they are not able to afford tuition school fees for Shifra's education leaving her unable to attend school.

David

David is a 6 year old boy and would be considered a primary level student. David is one of 3 children. David's father passed away in May of 2022, leaving the family devastated. David's mother has struggled to keep their heads above water and has felt helpless since losing her husband. She struggles to earn wages by doing laundry for hire and can barely afford to provide adequate nutrition for her 3 children. David dreams of being a doctor one day and prays for the opportunity to attend school.

Joan is an 11 year old girl and would be considered a primary level student. Joan is one of 3 children. Joan's father abandoned the family leaving her mother to struggle to care for her children. Joan's mother sells charcoal and bananas from a stall in the market to raise income to provide for her children. She is unable to afford the school tuition fees for Joan to be able to attend classes.

Yusuf

Yusuf is an 8 year old boy and would be considered a primary level student. Yusuf is one of 2 children. Yusuf's father passed away when he was five. Yusuf's mother works in a local market selling fruits and vegetables to provide for her children. She is unable to afford schooling and tuition fees for Yusuf to be able to attend school.

Sulaiman

Sulaiman is an 18 year old young man and would be considered a secondary level student. Sulaiman is one of 3 children. Sulaiman's family is unable to afford school fees for their children. Sulaiman has been sponsored for schooling by a generous sponsor his past several years of school. Due to unforeseen circumstances they are no longer able to assist with his schooling. Sulaiman is extremely bright and has aspirations to become an Engineer one day. Sulaiman is praying he will be able to complete high school so he can go on to pursue getting his university degree.

Shahadu is a 6 year old boy and would be considered a primary level student. Shahadu is one of 5 children. Shahadu's mother is a teacher at the Uganda Lift Up Girls location. She helps to teach young mothers there a trade so they can go on to earn an income to provide for their children from the skills they learn at Lift Up Girls. The mother struggles to provide and is unable to afford school tuition fees for her own children.

Shakul is a 12 year old boy and would be considered a primary level student. Shakul is one of 5 children. Shakul's mother is a teacher at the Iganga Lift Up Girls location. She helps to teach young mothers a trade so they can go on to earn an income to provide for their children from the skills they learn at Lift Up Girls. The mother struggles to provide and is unable to afford school tuition fees for her own children.

Quraishi is a 15 year old boy and would be considered a primary level student. Quraishi is one of 3 children. Quraishi's father abandoned the family over three years ago. Quraishi's mother lost her business at the height of the COVID pandemic. She currently is a teacher at one of the Lift Up Girls locations and teaches young teenage mothers how to be a seamstress. The mother is unable to afford school tuition fees for her own children.

Fitrah Namulondo

Fitrah is a 10 year old little girl and is one of 3 children in her family. Her father is no longer with the family leaving her mother to care for her children on her on. Currently her mother has no source of income and desperately is struggling to even provide basic care and meals for her children. The mother is actively looking for a permanent source of income and does as much as she can to earn wages to support her family.

Nuraiya

Nuraiya is a 7 year old girl and would be considered a primary level student. Nuraiya's father abandoned the family over 3 years ago. Nuraiya's mother lost her business at the height of the COVID pandemic. She is currently a teacher at one of the Lift Up Girls locations and teaches young teenage mothers how to be a seamstress. Eleanor's mother makes a very small salary working at a local church and struggles to provide basic necessities for her family. Eleanor and her younger brother have not been able to attend school since the country went into COVID lockdown and the family has lost all hope of the children being able to return to school.

Melvin is a 7 year old boy and would be considered a primary level student. Melvin is one of 5 children. Melvin's father lost his source of income during the COVID crisis and has since been unable to find employment. Melvin's mother makes a very small salary working at a local church and struggles to provide basic necessities for her family. Melvin and his older sister have not been able to attend school since the country went into COVID lockdown and the family has lost all hope of the children being able to return to school.

John Isabirye

Little John's mother passed away in childbirth and his father left him to be cared for by his grandmother. His elderly grandmother struggles to care for him and is unable to afford for Little John to attend school. Little John has had a loving Sponsor Parent who has helped financially this past year with his schooling, however, due to unforeseen circumstances regrettably is unable to continue Sponsorship for Little John for the coming school term. Little John would like to be a pilot when he is older. Little John is the sweetest little boy and has excelled in school. He was unable to read or write last year and now is scoring top grades in his class.

Shafiga's mother grows vegetables to sell at a local market and struggles to provide for her 7 children. Shafiga would like to be a midwife one day and assist other women in childbirth.

Ian is one of 9 children. His father passed away 9 years ago leaving his mother to care for her many children by herself. She works on a farm and struggles to provide for children. She is unable to afford for her children to attend school.

Nusulah Namutebi

Age: 16 years old
Grade: S
Nusulah is a 16 year old girl and is one of 3 children in her family. Nusulah's father abandoned the family when she was born and she had never been able to have a relationship with her father. Her mother passed away last year leaving her orphaned. Nusulah wants to become a nurse when she is older.
